Mangalore, Oct 4: Autism Centre was inaugurated at the Chetana Child Development Centre here.
The centre was donated by Malpe Vittaldas Kini, Mumbai in memory of his wife late Sunanda Vittaldas Kini. This is the first of its kind in the twin districts where comprehensive rehabilitation is available under one roof for autistic children.
Raina Rodrigues, a psychologist and autism therapist spoke on autism and services offered by newly opened autism centre namely autism screening, functional assessment, curriculum planning, therapeutic intervention, sensory integration therapy and parental guidance and training.
Chief guest Ln J Krishnand Rao expressed his views on the occasion and appreciated the initiative taken by the Seva Bharathi Mangalore Trust.
Autistic children and their parents along with trustees of Seva Bharathi were present.
