Mangalore: Dr Ifthikar Ali Urges Governor to Set up Physiotherapy Council for State

Mangalore, Oct 4: Dr U T Ifthikar Ali, president of Sports and Fitness Training Federation of India and member of Board of Studies, RGUHS, has urged governor H R Bhardwaj to set up a physiotherapy council for the state.

A press release stated that Dr Ali met the governor at Raj Bhavan recently in this regard and also emphasized on the need for appointing qualified physiotherapists with masters degree at government-run hospitals.

Dr Ali also stressed on the recognition of physiotherapists as vital members of the healthcare setup and briefed the governor on the importance of physiotherapy in various fields of healthcare.

The governor has given his assurance and full support towards the cause, stated the release.

Dr Ali is also the professor and student welfare officer at Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy.
