Mangalore: Holy Cross Parish, Cordel Organizes Ward-wise Tug-of-war Competitions

Mangalore, Oct 18: A ward-wise tug-of-war competitions were held at the Kulsheker parish grounds here on Sunday October 17 under the aegis of Holy Cross Parish Cultural Committee, Cordel, Kulshekar and parish unit of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM).

The team of St Thomas ward, Umikhan and Little Flower ward, Kanadka bagged the first and second prize respectively in men’s division, while Holy Cross II ward, Sirlapadpu bagged the third prize. The team of Guardian Angel ward, opposite Cordel Hall and Blessed Mary ward, Niddel bagged the first and second prize respectively in women’s division, while Little Flower ward, Kanadka bagged the third prize.

In all 18 teams from various wards participated in the competitions, which was sponsored by Leslie and Nora D’Costa family of Guardian Angel ward, in memory of the late Lawrence and Lizi D’Costa.

The parish priest Fr Valerian Pinto distributed the prizes to the winners and parish council vice-president Victor Vaz presented the certificates to all the participants.
