Mangalore, Oct 18: Yenepoya Medical College emerged winners at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences' (RGUHS) Mysore zone inter-collegiate tournament held at Aadichunchunagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Bellur recently.
Also, Yenepoya Dental College bagged the runners-up place.
As many as thirteen colleges from Mysore partiicpated in the tournament. Yenepoya Medical College and Yenepoya Dental College entered the final.
Both the teams have qualified for the inter-zonal level.
In the semi-final Yenepoya Medical College defeated Mysore Medical College, Mysore (MMC) two goals to nil while Yenepoya Dental College defeated A J Shetty Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangalore with a penalty shootout.
Asad and Wazeem of Yenepoya Medical College were named player of the tournament and best defender respectively while Faseel Abdul Rahman of Yenepoya Dental College bagged the best striker trophy.
