Puttur, Oct 19: The policemen had found the mortal remains of a person on a road in Darbe here on the morning of Sunday October 17. The body belonged to Chandrashekhar, a resident of Kaniyoor. The policemen had registered a case of murder, relating to this incident.

Upon further investigation, the policemen realized that Chandrashekhar, who was riding in the pillion of a motor bike driven by the brother of his wife, had fallen down from the vehicle and got killed on the night of Saturday October 16. In this connection, Srinivas, who was riding the bike, has been arrested.

The policemen say that Srinivas and Chandrashekhar, who were fully drunk, were moving on the bike towards Kaniyoor. After Chandrashekhar fell down, Srinivas had tried to carry him. Finding that his brother-in-law had already died, Srinivas developed cold feet, and went home in his bike, they said.
