Sullia: Man Drowns in Tank - Locals Suspect Foul Play

Sullia,Oct 19: A person, who was trying to repair a problematic pipe, died after slipping and drowning in the water tank of his house. The incident occurred on Sunday October 17 night at Tadakaje in Bellare village in the taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Mohan Kumar (55). The tap of the water tank had developed some problems. Mohan Kumar went to repair the tap at night, after the panchayat started pumping water through the pipeline. As he did not come back even after considerable time, his wife went looking for him, and found that he had died after drowning in the tank. The local policemen have recorded the incident as accidental death.

Kumar was a Congress activist and had worked as the member of taluk level Akrama Samiti. Blood was found to have oozed out of his ears and nose. The locals have suspected foul play, and urged the policemen to undertake detailed investigation to find out the real cause of his death.
