Bangalore: Police Search Infosys Office Following Bomb Threat Call

Bangalore, Oct 21 (PTI): Police, assisted by bomb disposal squad, is searching the office premises of IT major Infosys following a phone call today that stated a bomb is inside the complex.

"A call was received at 9.30 am at the Infosys office stating that a bomb had been placed inside the campus", DCP B N S Reddy told PTI.

Following the call, bomb disposal and dog squads with police personnel were deployed to comb the entire area, he said.

The search operations, which commenced in morning have not yielded anything yet, however, police is still combing the area to rule out any possibility, the official noted.

The call has been traced to a phonebooth at J P Nagar area, he said, adding that they are investigating into the case.

Earlier this week, biotech major Biocon had also received a hoax call saying an explosive had been placed within the office premises.
