Mangalore: ‘Media Projected Me as Villain, But I Am Not’ – Renukacharya

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Oct 27: Speaking to newsmen during his visit to the city on Tuesday October 26 for reviewing the performance of the excise department, state excise minister, M P Renukacharya, who is mostly in the news for wrong reasons, vehemently denied that he had tried to harm his own government.

“There is no need for change of leadership in the state. All the BJP ministers and legislators have full confidence in the leadership of Yeddyurappa. The state government will complete its full term,” he said.

Renukacharya stressed that he had never tried to weaken either the BJP or the state government. While admitting that he had accompanied the dissident legislators of the party to Chennai when the JDS and the Congress had tried to rock the state government, he explained that he was with them to woo the disgruntled people back into the party fold. “I continuously tried to make them change their minds. I used to convey every single detail from there, to the Chief Minister. At no point of time did I ever thought of harming the government or the party. But the media projected me as a villain,” he rued.

I don't think even hardcore BJP supporters will buy this argument.
Probably, he should be greeted with rotton eggs. I wonder how can a honest officer take orders from this famously corrupt man.
