Bantwal, Oct 29: “Society can progress only when there is harmony. The efforts of the police to maintain peace are commendable. There will be discipline when more and more young people join the police department,” said Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguthu.

He was speaking after inaugurating a workshop held by the district police department in the cooperation of the working journalist’s association about job opportunities in the police force at Sparsha Mandir, B C Road on Friday, October 29.

“The workshop is essential for young people. It is sad that while thousands of people from the state join the police department, only a handful join from our district. It will be convenient for our youth to join the department when suitable information is provided to them,” he said.

“Workshops such as this should be held in each college. The disastrous consequences of drug addiction should be informed and awareness should be created about it by social media,” he said.

District SP Rishikesh Sonawane who presided over the programme said that you will succeed in any competitive examinations when you develop the curiosity to learn by competing between each other. “Discipline is important in the police department. Youth should be cautious about cybercrimes and drugs,” he said.

Bantwal taluk working journalist’s association chief secretary Mounesh Vishwakarma said that the police department and the journalists are working for a peaceful society. “The Patrakartara sangha will always cooperate in workshops such as this,” he said.

Bantwal ASP Shivamshu Rajput, Bantwal working journalists' association president Prashanth Punjalkatte and Bantwal town police station inspector Vivekananda were present.

You are absolutely right. There should be peace committees in all villages. Most of the time politicians spread misinformation, for their petty benefits. If there is no peace, everyone feels insecured. Which will affect wellbeing of society. Let us unite against communal forces and politicians of criminal background.
