Kalaburagi, Dec 23: "Sri Ram Sene will form task forces at district levels to deter religious conversions either forcible ones or those backed by lures. These task forces will have ten activists each," said Sri Ram Sene state president, Siddalinga Swamiji of Andola Math. At the same time, he clarified that the Sene will not object if people on their own volition change their religion. He also said that efforts will be made to convince those who have already crossed over to Christianity to return to Hinduism. They will have the liberty to decide which caste they would like to join upon their return," he said.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday December 22, he welcomed the tabling of the anti-conversion bill which he termed as historic. "We cannot deny chances of religious conversions happening forcibly or by enticement even after the law is passed. The task forces meant to identify such conversions and stop them will become active from December 25 onward. They will work to support the district administrations and the police. If forcible conversion is found, the organization will work on the grounds of morality," he stated.

He criticized KPCC president D K Shivakumar, for tearing the copies of the act and showing utter disrespect to the assembly. "This has hurt the feelings of Hindus on a large scale. In effect, he has opposed the rule that religious conversions should happen within the framework of laws," he felt.
