Puttur, Dec 15: In an incident that occurred at Harihara Pallatadka near Subrahmanya on Tuesday December 14, a person named Deepak shot dead his friend, Shoorappa (38). It is said that Deepak was heavily drunk at that time.

Shoorappa is survived by wife and a daughter. He normally lived at the house of his in-laws located in a far off village. He had come to his native place, Harihara Pallatadka, a few days back, and was to return to his family in a couple of days.

It is gathered that on Tuesday, Shoorappa and Deepak wanted to enjoy a party together. They got liquor from Guttigar and consumed it in a room opposite Shoorappa’s home. Deepak, who was sitting on the floor, is said to have fired from his gun in an intoxicated state. Shoorappa, who suffered injury to his neck region, died on the spot. Deepak then ran away from the place. He was later arrested from the house of a neighbour by Subrahmanya sub-inspector of police, Sharat Kumar, and other personnel.
