Mangalore, Dec 18: Corporation Bank felicitated M V Nair, chairman and managing director of Union Bank of India, K R Kamath, chairman and managing director of Punjab National Bank and M R Nayak, executive director of Allahabad Bank, at the Corporate Office of Corporation Bank here on Saturday December 18.
In his felicitation address, Ramnath Pradeep, C&MD of Corporation Bank observed that the career paths of the three stalwarts who scaled to new heights in Indian banking are success stories of banking talent groomed by Corporation Bank. He added that the success behind them can be attributed to hard work coupled with dedication and commitment and reflected the values enshrined in the corporate culture of Corporation Bank.
B R Bhat, H M A Khan and B N Satish, general managers of Corporation Bank outlined the contributions of M V Nair, K R Kamath and M R Nayak during their stint at Corporation Bank and beyond and wished them many more laurels.
M V Nair, C&MD, Union Bank of India replying to the felicitation said, “It was a touching moment and shall never forget it.” He expressed his gratitude to Corporation Bank which continues to provide the initial upbringing and inculcating leadership qualities amongst the employees of the bank. Nair said that the banking executives graduated from Corporation Bank are the true representatives of the bank carrying forward the trust and values of the parent bank. He exuded confidence that the bank would reach the top five position within a decade based on its historic record.
Replying to the felicitation, K R Kamath, C&MD, Punjab National Bank attributed the success of Corporation Bank to its value system and corporate governance system relevant to all times. “The ever changing banking scenario, particularly, in the next two years, banking industry would undergo a sea change in terms of composition of staff, their training and infusion of corporate culture and value in them. He reiterated that there is a need to position the banking system against these challenges.”
M R Nayak, executive director, Allahabad Bank replying to the felicitation said, “Skill development is critical to effectively handle the systems and procedures in the Banks. He said that ethics in banking is imperative and Corporation Bank continues its thrust on this by inculcating these values amongst the employees.”
Narendra Singh, Executive director welcomed the gathering and Ashwani Kumar, Executive director, Corporation Bank proposed the vote of thanks.
