Davanagere: Renukacharya Escapes Unscathed in Inflammatory Remark Case

Davanagere, Dec 20: Through a judgment delivered on Saturday December 18, the judge of the second junior magistrate first class court in the town, exonerated excise minister, M P Renakacharya, in a case relating to the alleged provocative statement issued by him.

The statement was allegedly issued by the minister in response to a statement purported to have been issued by Kagodu Timmappa in Sagar against Hindus. In a case filed by Putta Naika from the town from KTJ Nagar, Renukacharya was accused of remarking that the necks of those who call for cutting off the hands of Hindus need to be chopped off.

Judge of the court, Jyoti R Patel, dismissed the case, holding that the witnesses in the case have failed co corroborate the allegation.
