Mumbai: State holiday declared on Feb 7 in honour of Late Lata Mangeshkar

Mumbai, Feb 7: Government of Maharashtra declared Monday, February 7 as holiday in honour of renowned singer Lata Mangeshkar, who died and cremated on Sunday, February 6.

This holiday is declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act in respect of the legend. Banks throughout the state will be shut on Monday. RBI has rescheduled its monetary policy committee meeting that was scheduled to be held from February 7 to 9 to February 8 to 10.

The principal bench of Bombay high court is also shut as a mark of respect to the departed legendary singer. However, it will compensate for the same by working on a Saturday in future.
