Mangalore: Revenue Officer on Election Duty Allegedly Disrespects Traffic SI

Mangalore, Jan 4: A Revenue department officer here on Tuesday January 4 exhibiting ill-mannered behaviour allegedly used disrespectful words against traffic sub-inspector Gopalkrishna Bhat near the counting centre, Rosario High School.

It is alleged that officer Shivananda who was on election duty had tried to drive through a one way in his jeep (CKG-248). When questioned in thei regard by the traffic SI, it is alleged that the officer used disrespectful words against the policeman. Further, he also got in touch with tahshildar Manjunath and took permission to get through the route.

When contacted tahshildar agreed that the incident had taken place and that the matter has been brought to the notice of ACP. It can be recalled here that DC in a meeting held prior to the election had passed strict order to take action against violator, which here stands disregarded, it is alleged.
