Mangalore: Reckless Crane Operator Causes Death of Youth

Mangalore, Jan 5: A person named Lakshmish alias Munna (25) from Vamadapadav village, working as labourer in Bharati Shipyard in Tannirbavi near Panambur here, died on Monday night. He had been injured on the same afternoon, after a crane hit him.

Lakshmish, who was unmarried, is survived by mother, three brothers, and two sisters.

Allegedly, the negligence and recklessness of the crane operator concerned caused this death. Lakshmish was working as helper to the crane operator. After being hit by the crane, he had suffered critical injuries on Monday afternoon. He was rushed to a private hospital in the city. He breathed his last at the hospital the same night.

A case was registered in Panambur police station in this regard. Investigation has been taken up.
