Mangalore: Pulse Polio Drive on Jan 23


Mangalore, Jan 7 (DHNS): The second round of pulse polio drive will be held on January 23, said Dr Sathishchandra.

Speaking at a meeting on pulse polio programme held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Subhod Yadav here on Wednesday, he said after 2007, no polio cases have been detected in the State.

DHO Dr Srirangappa said: “We have chalked out plan for the success of the pulse polio drive keeping in mind migrant labourers and mobile population.”

The DC urged DHO to constitute taluk-level task force to take the help of medical colleges and nursing colleges in the city in the success of pulse polio programme. He also urged the MCC health officers to convene  meeting and create awareness on polio drive.

The MESCOM should not go for power cut during the pulse polio drive programme. Pulse polio helpline should be started, he added.
