Mangalore, Jan 8: Through an interim order issued in a petition moved by a city-based advocate named Dinakar Shetty, the state High Court (HC) has instructed the lower court not to conduct the trial of Shetty in connection with the infamous pub attack case that had occurred in the city.

In his petition, Dinakar Shetty, who has been named as the 28th accused in the said case, stated that the policemen had involved him in the case without any corroborating or other evidences against him. He therefore, had sought for the cancellation of his name from the charge sheet.

The HC, while accepting the petition for hearing, instructed the second junior magistrate (first class) court in the city not to summon Shetty for hearing till the petition moved by him is disposed off.

Dinakar Shetty used to appear in different courts on behalf of Hindu outfits in various cases. Supposedly, his name was included as an accused, on the basis of an opinion given by him to the media relating to the pub attack case. Charge sheet had been registered against 30 accused persons five months back. The hearing in the case stands adjourned to March this year.
