Mangaluru, Mar 11: 'Hello Father' a Konkani TV show telecast on Daijiworld TV will take a short break after having completed 100 episodes. The 100th episode was telecast on Thursday, March 10, with an announcement of a temporary break by Walter Nandalike, the host of the show. Former archbishop of Bhopal, Leo Carnelio was featured in the 100th episode.
Hello Father highlighted the life journey of Catholic priests to inspire youngsters, aspiring priests to take the right decision in their lives. Priests from all congregations and regions were featured on this show.
The show started airing on 28 April 2020 and Fr Richard Coelho was the first guest who recalled his life prior to and after the priesthood. Within a short duration after the telecast, the show became very popular among the Konkani speaking community. There has been a huge following for this programme because of the challenging and sometimes dangerous life stories of senior and influential priests in society.
The priests who served in Japan, Africa, Turkey, Papua New Gini, and Canada also took part in this show and shared their good and unforgettable moments in priesthood. The show succeeded in accommodating priests who are from the Konkani community and serving people under various congregations throughout India.
Senior priest Msgr Valerian D'Souza was the guest of 50th episode while Fr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, Bishop Emeritus, Mangalore Diocese was featured in 75th episode. The religious community also applauded the efforts of Daijiworld TV for providing it an opportunity to directly hear the feelings from the priests.
"After spreading the news of the temporary break, we received thousands of texts with a request to continue the show. Right now, we can tell our viewers and followers of the show on TV and YouTube that we shall resume the show shortly. We are working on minor changes in the structure of the show and hence the production house requires a short break," says Walter Nandalike, host of the show.
New reality show 'Biri Biri Pavs' will replace the Thursday 9 PM prime slot in place of 'Hello Father.'
