Bengaluru, Mar 14: A day after attacking KPCC Chief D K Shivakumar’s brother and Bengaluru Rural Congress MP D K Suresh in Ramanagara, State JD(S) Chief Kumaraswamy on Monday, March 14 trained his guns on former minister C P Yogeshwar, who was part of B S Yediyurappa’s cabinet, and alleged that the present BJP MLC had looted people under the pretext of the controversial Mega City real estate project.

Lambasting Yogeshwar for his “shameful and unparliamentary” use of language against him, the former Chief Minister went hammer and tongs and charged that the former minister had cheated people through his ‘’Sainika’’ Kannada movie project.

“I don’t need anybody’s certificates. My life is an open book,’’ Kumaraswamy said while talking to reporters in Vidhana Soudha on Monday, March 14 when asked to give his comments of Yogeshwar’s attacks against him. ‘’The third class and foul language used by him depicts his personality and upbringing,’’ he said.

On Yogeshwar’s charge that he used to enjoy at the Taj West End Hotel as Chief Minister, Kumaraswamy said he was not going to the hotel for any sex. ``As I had not having any government accommodation, I used to go there to take rest. Wherever I go, my Personal Assistant was with me. He accompanies even now. The then cabinet minister Sa.Ra. Mahesh and many other friends used to be there. I have nothing to hide. My life is an open book,’’ he said.

The JD(S) leader assailed Yogeshwar for his tirade saying nothing has been done in Channapatna assembly constituency, which is utter falsehood.

“What he (Yogeshwar) did for construction of the bus stand at Channapatna is known to everybody. He got an estimate done through a contractor for the private bus stand at a cost of Rs 30 crore and the contractor has dug up the land and covered it with tin sheets. Does he want me to give money for this loot project,” he asked.

Further, the JD(S) leader said the Ambedkar Bhavan construction project in Channapatna is another big scandal. It is water-logged now, he said and asserted that he had made arrangements to clean it up.

“I have done what is needed for Channaptna. The progress and development not seen in the last 30 years, has happened under me. I was Chief Minister for the entire State and have done my best to serve the people of the entire State. I don’t need certificates from these type of people,’’ he said.

Kumaraswamy alleged that Yogeshwar was responsible for looting thousands of people through the Mega City Project and was involved in swindling funds for the “Sainika” Kannada movie. The people who gave and invested money in the movie are suffering, he said.

The former Chief Minister challenged Yogeshwar for an open debate in Channapatna and promised expose him with more details. “Let him come and face me in the public in front of the people. I will disclose all details,’’ he declared.
