Udupi, Mar16: "The verdict of the High Court over the Hijab row is unsatisfactory. It is like upholding the government's wishful decision without considering the Constitutional, religious and educational rights of Muslims," stated the Udupi District Muslim Union.

It told the media on Wednesday, March 16, "The high court's definition of Hijab does not suit the guidance in Islam. Hence, Muslim organisations has given the call for state-level Bandh on Thursday."

It has asked the members of the community to shut their business and support the protest. The union has also requested that bandh should be peaceful and no one should be forced. It has also advised against protest rallies.
