Cause of irresponsible parenting of the rider boy. Have seen minor boys driving high end cars with proud parents as passengers without realising that they are giving license to kill to o their wards. Our toothless laws and corrupt adminstration is squarely responsible.

We find often these bacchas riding motorcycles and scooters tripple ride with full speed. People admire them instead of alerting the police. In this case, it is heart breaking to see the loss of life. Did the bike rider have driving license? I suppose, he didn't. Were not the parents aware that he was riding the bike without a license? The don't you think it is the fault of the parents more than that of the boy?

Dear Ashok, Let me further add on .... blame it fair and square on the stinking rich families - majority of them have no sense of discipline -especially from the parents point-of-view, due to which they can't control their emotions and forced to express their sheer helplessness due to the ever demanding pangs thrown up by their wards (children) time and again. This is mostly provoked due to the surroundings they reside. If denied, the children feel they're unnecessarily being deprived of their "status symbol" and if they're yet again let down, they threaten of committing suicide or take dire consequences which parents can't cope with and fear their wards may resort to. The worrisome factor in today's world is that suicide has become a "fashionable trend". In poor families though there are few exceptions, such things are mostly unheard of. Either way the parents are in a jinx.

A young boy (including me when I was young) will not realise the danger behind riding a two wheeler (Including me when i was 20 years and not 9th standard....I had only cycle at that age}. It is their parents responsibility to save their children's life by taking harsh decisions.

did a bit of research and found a case Rakesh Kumar Arora vs Balwant Singh [.Where Rakesh Kumar Arora's 14 year old son had killed Balwant Singh's son in a road accident. Balwant Singh claimed 10 Lakhs as compensation. The high court directed Rakesh Kumar Arora and the insurance company to pay 10L jointly because it held that the insurance company couldn't exonerate itself from liability because there was no wilful default on Rakesh Kumar Arora. The Supreme Court however, overturned this judgement and held that the insurance company wasn't liable. This is only punishment . Only money. I fell sorry for the kid who was a pillion rider who never knew law. An Angel murdered indirectly. RIP.

How could the insurance company be liable unless the insurance policy allows kids to ride the bike? Here the apex court was right. The parent who allowed the son to drive is allowing him to drive without insurance, and he only is liable to compensate.
