Puttur, Mar 30: A child that was born a few weeks ago, passed away in a private hospital here. The parents of the child have accused a nurse of being responsible for the child's demise due to her negligence.

The parents of the child, Ganesh and Chaitra, had admitted the child that was ill, into a private hospital here. Reportedly, the nurse had administered three doses of injection and fixed nebulizer to clear the lungs. It is said that even though the child was wailing in pain, the nurse negligently walked away without attending to the child. They said that the child began to struggle to breathe and that its activities withered.

The family members then picked up the child and rushed to the counter of the hospital. The other nurses who examined the child informed the parents that the child was no more. It is said that the father of the child has lodged a complaint in the police station.
