Gadag: Two teachers suspended for allowing Hijabs in exam centres

Gadag, Mar 30: Deputy director of public instruction, G M Basavalingappa, issued suspension orders for two teachers for dereliction of duty. They have been accused of allowing some Muslim girl students to appear for the SSLC examination held on Monday March 28 with Hijabs. This incident had happened at the C S Patil high school examination centre.

S U Hokkalada, a teacher of the government higher primary school No. 12, and S M Pattar, teacher of the government high school at Siddalinga Nagara here, have been suspended. Both were room supervisors for the SSLC examination.

The suspensions have been ordered pending departmental inquiry.
