Shivamogga: Police sub-inspector suspended for malpractice, abusive language

Shivamogga, Mar 31: Jayappa Naik, police sub-inspector of Malur police station in Thirthahalli taluk has been suspended from service. He has been accused of using abusive language against the owner of a lorry two days back on the issue of illegal sand transportation.

It is said that Jayappa Naik used to intimidate lorry owners and drivers to pay him bribe even when the sand was transported legally and with permits.

The call record has established this allegation. Because of this, the police officer was suspended from service by an order issued by the estern zone deputy inspector general of police, Tyagarajan.
