Udupi: Hasiru Horekanike offers to Sri Jayadurgaparameshwari temple, Kannarpady

Udupi, Mar 31: A beautiful Hasiru Horekanike procession was held on Thursday, March 31 as part of the Ashta Bandha Brahmakalashabhishekha of the renovated Sri Jayadurgaparameshwari temple, Kannarpady.

The horekanike procession commenced from Jodukatte and ended in the temple premises. The priests offered groceries and vegetables to Goddess Jayadurgaparameshwari and performed a pooja under the auspicious of Vedamurthy Puttur Shreesha Tantry.

The procession was accompanied by a chariot, traditional band with chende, bhajans, dollu kunitha, fancy dress artists, purna kumba by Kannarpady Mahila Sangha and vehicles carrying vegetables, coconuts, tender coconuts, large number of rice bags and so on. The collected food grains and vegetables will be used for community meals during religious programmes.

K Krishnamurthy Acharya, former president, management committee and treasurer, renovation committee, N Muralidhar Ballal, president, renovation committee, T Sukumar, Working President and retired engineer in Chief former secretary PWD, Amritha Krishnamurthy, councillor, Gururaja Upadhyaya, temple priest, Sanjeeva A, advocate, general decretary renovation committee, Dr Roshan kumar Shetty, administrator, Sri Jayadurgaparameshwari Temple, Kannarpady, and all the members of renovation committee and priests, office bearers of Temple management committee and villagers were present.
