Puttige seer honored by followers in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Apr 2: 'Guru Vandanotsava' felicitation for Puttige Seer Sri Sugunendratheertha swamiji was organized by Sri Sugunendra Theertha swamiji followers in Basavanagudi Bengaluru.

Speaking on the occasion Pejawar Seer Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha swamiji said, "Puttige seer is like moving Bhagavad Gita. He has spread the message of the Lord even to foreigners. We are very minimal when compared to Puttige seer. He has led the mutt with an able leadership after Sujnanendra theertha" he said.

On receiving the felicitation Puttige seer Sri Sri Sugunendra theertha swamiji said, "Pejawar seer Sri Viswesha theertha swamiji and Sri Vishwaprasanna theertha swamiji are ideal Guru - Shishya. Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha swamiji allowed for the fifth paryaya of his Guru and walked as per His wish. They are ideal Guru- Shishya," he said.

Addressing the gathering Sudha Murthy, ex president Infosys foundation said, "We need to break the barriers to inculcate new things in our lives. Puttige Seer is an example for such an act. Even though foreign travel is prohibited in Santhan dharma, Puttige seer travelled to foreign countries to spread the message of Lord Krishna" she said.

Pejawar seer Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha swamiji honored Puttige seer with a dry fruits turban which was decorated to Lord Sri Krishna. Puttige seer was honored by his Bengaluru residing followers on the occasion.

Dr Shathawadani Udupi Ramanatha Acharya compiled 'Aravattu' book was released on the occasion.

L Ravi Subramanya, MLA Venkatesh, MLC Jayaprakash Hegde, president backward class commission Santhosh hegde, ex Lokayukta prof, K E Radhakrishna, president Puttige seer followers association Bengaluru and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
