Bengaluru, Apr 4: District level Dr BR Ambedkar and Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavans and study centres will be established in Chikkaballapur, Health and Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar said on Monday, April 4.

While Dr Ambedkar was the Architect of Indian Constitution, the former Deputy Prime Minister Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram was behind the country’s green revolution, he said while speaking to Dalit leaders of Chikkaballapur district.

He said district administration has been directed to provide at least 1 acre of land for the construction of Dr Ambedkar Bhavan and the site will be handed over to the Social Welfare Department on April 14, the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar.

Dr Sudhakar, who is also district in-charge minister for Chikkaballapur, said the State Government has already released Rs 3.5 crore for the construction of the Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan, the foundation stone for its construction will be laid on April 5, which is being celebrated as Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram Jayanti.
