Bengaluru, Apr 4: With the Sakala service scheme completing a decade on April 2, the State Government has come out with a redesigned and renewed website, which was unveiled by Primary and Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh, who is also in charge of Sakala, at Vidhana Soudha on Monday, April 4.

As many as 1,115 services by 99 different government departments are covered under Sakala scheme for time-bound disposal of applications by different departments, the minister said and pointed out that problems and delays by some departments will be solved soon.

The government was seriously considering including Tatkal service for early disposal of applications and would be discussed before implementing, he said.

The minister said as many as 26.56 crore applications were received till the end of February 2022 from April 2, 2012, when the scheme was launched. Of the applications received, 26.41 crore have been resolved.

Though there is a provision for levying fines on officials for laxity if the applications were not resolved within the specified time-limit, the minister said the provision was not being properly adhered to and it was necessary to solve the issues.

Former minister S Suresh Kumar, Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Dr Shalini Rajneesh, Sakala Mission Director V Ponnuraj, Additional Director Dr BR Mamatha and other senior officials were present.
