Kundapur, Apr 4: “SCDCC bank is the leading bank in the state that is a model for other cooperative banks,” said state minister of cooperatives S T Somashekar. He was speaking after inaugurating the 110th branch of the bank at Uppunda here.

“People who borrowed money from cooperative banks during Covid have died. It was decided to help their families in a meeting held at Apex bank. SCDCC bank president M N Rajendra Kumar announced Rs 1 lac each. The cheques have been handed over to the beneficiaries today. Union minister Amit Shah has been requested to bring all the cooperative societies under one computer system who has assured to do so in a year," he added.

“There are 15 milk unions in the state and 26 lac farmers are supplying milk to them. As many as 9 lac women among them have become members. The government has planned to issue cards to all the members,” he said.

Minister Murugesh Nirani inaugurated Navodaya Self help group’s achievement conference. Minister of agriculture B C Patil inaugurated the new self help associations.

SCDCC bank president Dr Rajendra Kumar said that 4,000 accounts were opened on the day the Uppunda branch was inaugurated.

Financial assistance cheques for the families of those who died due to Covid were handed over. Loans were distributed to women self-help groups. The Chaitanya insurance cheques were handed over to the families of the deceased. The vehicle loan letters were distributed.
