Sensex Quiet in Morning Trade


Mumbai, Feb 4 (IANS) A benchmark index for Indian equities markets Friday was ruling weak in early trade, although broader markets saw some buying.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 18,450.07 points, was ruling at 18,408.33 points - down 40.98 points or 0.22 percent from its previous close at 18,449.31 points.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange too was flat, trading 0.1 percent lower at 5,520.95 points.

Broader markets were moderately higher, with the BSE midcap index up 0.45 percent and the BSE small cap index trading 0.19 percent up.
