Mangalore, Feb 14: Madoor Yousuf alias Isubu, an alleged underworld fugitive, who is an under-trial prisoner in the local jail, was admitted into the government Wenlock Hospital here on Sunday February 13, after the doctors reported that he suffered from high blood pressure.

Sources in the district jail said that Isubu is being treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital.

On Saturday, the Ullal policemen had obtained his custody for interrogating him on criminal cases within their jurisdiction that are linked to him. Before taking him to the police station, he was referred to the Wenlock Hospital for health check. As the doctors opined that it is not advisable to take him to the police station, as he was suffering from high blood pressure, they had dropped him back at the jail. The jail authorities later obtained court permission to admit him into the hospital.

Isubu, arrested by the district policemen on December 8, was earlier remanded to police custody in the city, Bantwal, and Bunder police stations.
