Bantwal: Cricket Dispute – Assault and Counter Assault

Bantwal, Feb 18: Relating to a dispute that arose while playing cricket, a gang allegedly barged into a house and beat up six members of a family in Tumbe village in the taluk on Wednesday February 16 night.

In a complaint filed by Abdul Hamid from Urban Gudde in Thumbe in the rural police station here on Thursday February 17, Abdul Nawaz, Ibrahim, Parvez, Naushad, and Sarfraz have been named as the assault-accused.

Zubaida, wife of Abdul Hamid, her children, Abdul Khader, Salim, Illyas and Mustafa, have been admitted into a hospital with severe injuries. On Wednesday evening, the accused and children of Abdul Hamid reportedly fought with each other relating to a misunderstanding that arose while playing cricket. The night-time attack has been linked to this altercation.

In a counter complaint, the policemen have been told that an attack was launched on the house of Ibrahim, various things found in the house were damaged, and Naushad was assaulted. The rural policemen have registered both the cases. Investigation has been undertaken.
