Mangalore, Feb 19: The Kadri Police have arrested two persons involved in mobile theft case at a mobile store in ABS Plaza, Mallikatta, here recently.  They were arrested near Jeppina Mogaru on Friday February 18.

Four mobile sets among the 7 stolen mobile phones have been seized from the accused. The estimated cost of the seized mobile phone is Rs 60,000.

The arrested are identified as Mohammed Shameer (24), a resident of Jeppinamogaru and Suryanarayana alias Ravi alias Wahid, (23) a resident of Mulleria, Badiyadka of Kasargod.

Police said that both of them were good friends and engaged in stealing from their childhood days. Suryanarayana alias Ravi alias Wahid started living at Shamir’s house and fell in love with Shameer’s sister Fathima. Later Suryanaayana converted to Islam and changed his name as Wahid. They were arrested with regard to various cases and were in jail in several places like Manjeshwara, Bekal, Badiyadka and Kannur. Shameer was released from the jail on January 20.

The operation was conducted by Kadri Police circle inspector Niranjan Das Aras, PSI Vinayak, ASI Vishwanath, staffs Narendra, Mohammed, Sheshappa Gowda, Yashavanth and Prakash Naik.
