Bantwal: Advocate, Former Judge, Sadashiva Rai Bellipady, No More

Bantwal, Feb 21: B Sadashiva Rai Bellipady (81), a leading lawyer, who had served as the president of Bantwal Bar Association for 17 long years, breathed his last at his residence at B C Road on Sunday February 20. He is survived by wife, two sons, and a daughter.

Rai, after getting degree education in Mangalore, and securing a law degree from Madras, had initially started his career as a lawyer in Mangalore. After serving as a judge in Karkala for a short term, he resumed work as an advocate. He remained active till the end, was well-known for his skills in the fields of football and tennis, and was actively involved with Rotary Club and other organizations. He also had appeared on behalf of a client in the court a day prior to his death.

Bellipady was the last link representing the older generation, in the local Bar Association.
