Udupi: ‘Congress is Sinking Ship, BJP Corrupt to Core’ – Bangarappa

Udupi, Feb 21: “Congress is a sinking ship. BJP is a party of the most corrupt people,” said former Chief Minister and JDS leader, S Bangarappa.  He was addressing a meeting of JDS workers and members of the District Toddy Tappers Association on Sunday February 21. The meeting was held at Narayanaguru Mandir’s auditorium in Bannanje here.

He said there is a bright prospect of the JDS rising to power in the state shortly. He assured the fishermen, toddy tappers, and the backward classes that the JDS will solve all their problems, once it comes to power. He termed Chief Minister, Yeddyurappa’s claim to present a budget with an outlay of over a crore of rupees as farcical. “The state is already burdened with liabilities running into Rs 80,000 crore. Where from will he bring so much money? If we continue to borrow money, the state will nosedive into a debt trap,” he warned.

He derided the leaders for giving importance to sticking to power, rather than thinking about what contributions they can make for the society as a whole when in power. “Our Chief Minister is more concerned about the number of days he is in power, rather than how he made use of the power for the benefit of the people,” he added.

JDS district president, Deviprasad Shetty, welcomed. Former MLA, U R Sabhapaty, Shalini Shetty Kenchanoor, president of District Toddy Tappers Association, Koraga Poojary, entrepreneur, M K Sanil, and several others were present.
