Kundapur, Feb 21: The policemen of Amasebail station confiscated two Hitachi backhoes that were being used to level and encroach upon a government land in Mookanahalkat, Shedimane village in the taluk on Sunday February 20.

Trivikram Adiga, village accountant of Madamakki gram panchayat, had filed a police complaint, alleging that Ratnakar Shetty, son of Rudramma Shedti, had encroached upon over two acres of government land in the said village and was levelling the land by clearing it of bushes and trees, with the help of two backhoes. The village accountant said he had personally visited the spot and requested the person not to encroach the government land, but that his requests were not heeded.

Under the instructions of the taluk tahsildar, Amasebail policemen came to the spot, and confiscated the backhoes being used for clearing the land. A case has been registered in Amasebail police station about the incident against the alleged encroacher.
