Bantwal, Feb 22:
‘Jeevanth Santhin’, a Konkani audio visual presentation based on the life of Blessed Mother Theresa, was staged by White Doves ®, a Mangalore-based NGO engaged in sheltering the destitute, especially the street children, at Infant Jesus parish ground, Modankap, near here on Sunday February 20 evening.  The show was organized by Modankap parish council in aid of the medical relief fund of the parish.

Over 3,000 people watched the programme with rapt attention, as scenes from Mother Teresa’s life unfolded before their eyes through songs and dialogues in the show spread over 28 drama scenes covering about three hours. The triple-stage that was put up at Modankap parish school ground, coupled with the powerful acting, provided glimpse of Mother Theresa’s spiritual-life and many of her great works of love, to the audience.

The cause captivated the hearts of the parishioners, prompting them to contribute generously.  Though most of the families are poor, the parish could raise Rs 10 lac for the project. The sheer goodwill of the people seemed like another miracle having occurred by the powerful appeal of Mother Theresa’s name and a cause that was dear to her heart.

Bantwal deanery vicar and Modankap parish priest, Fr Roque D’Souza, felicitated local Congress leader and Modankap parishioner, Dolphy Prashanth D’Souza, on this occasion.

I feel very lucky to be part of the successful, heart-touching truelife story enacted by White Doves.
It was enthralling, once in a life time experience for the audience-which made them to sit glued to their seats till the end, lest they might miss part of her life story, which was depicted in a very apt modern way by the actors. It shows how much hard work they have put in, so that it didn't seem it was just their second show. It made the audience happy when mother was happy & tears rolled down when she was suffering for the cause of destitutes, lepers & suffering irrespective of their caste or religion.

Congrats everybody for making this drama a resounding success. The child participants were very happy to be part of Mother Theresa & her life-story on the stage. I was seeing Mother of God -Mary's Healing touch through this Saint-who was mother for all, even for those whom society had shown no love or caring-TRUELY A GIFT TO MANKIND BY GOD HIMSELF-THE ESSENCE OF CHRISTS MESSAGE FOR ALL.
