Mangalore: Online Trading Company Shuts Down – Case Filed

Mangalore, Feb 28: After considering a private complaint filed by Bhavanishankar from Meenakaliya, Bykampady near here, the second Junior Magistrate First Class court here has ordered the Kadri police station conduct an investigation about the closure of the concern, ‘Global Index’, which allegedly closed its doors recently after collecting funds from the general public.

In his complaint, Bhavanishankar has alleged that the said firm, which was functioning in Karangalpady in the city, had encouraged about 40 members to join it by investing three lac rupees each for online trading business carried on by it. He says that the concern, by suddenly shutting business, has cheated these investors.

“Pravin Shetty and Vasant had introduced Shekhar Bhat me. He explained about the online business and encouraged me to join the same. I invested three lac rupees, out of which, I have received Rs 75,000 back. I also canvassed for the concern and inspired 40 members to join the same. The concern suddenly closed its doors since February 7. Those who urged me to join this scheme are not to be found now,” he said in the complaint.

A case stands registered in Kadri police station in this respect. Investigation has been taken up.
