Mangalore: Renovated Police Control Room Opened in City

Mangalore, Mar 3: The renovated police control room was launched by city police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh here on Thursday March 3.


The control room will supervise the GPS fit CPR vehicles of the commissionerate as commissioner has indicated that a GPS server will be set up in the same room.

The newly inaugurated control room which is located near the office of Commissioner has advanced a step further in using technology for effective policing.

Speaking on the occasion Singh said that the new control room will help in improvement of law and order situation in the commissionerate. He added that the television screens will be placed inside the control room through which the staff can directly watch the scenes captured by the CCTV cameras installed in various parts of the city.

ACP Ravindra K G and DCP (CR) Prasheti R A among others were present on the occasion.

    Police deserve up-to-date technology to handle the situation. We also need to educate police to respect people with dignity and not abuse as if everyone is a rowdy.

    It is an excellent effort to keep tab on what is happening in the city and a initiative commendable. It now also calls for installing cameras across sensitive areas of the city. Felix CCTV guys are capable of supplying excellent hardware for the purpose.
