Mangaluru: God the Holy Spirit Church celebrates annual feast

Mangaluru, Jun 6: God the Holy Spirit church celebrated the annual feast Pentecost on Sunday June 5.

As the church is dedicated to the Holy Spirit, 9 days Novena was conducted offering prayers to different intentions. As a preparation Eucharistic procession was held on May 29. Fr Walter D’Mello, judicial vicar of Mangalore diocese was the main celebrant for the Eucharist celebration of the festival. Fr Walter D Mello in his Homily focused on the family life and importance of marriage. He explained the gifts of the Holy Spirit and said, “We have to inculcate these values in our families. When we allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in our hearts we become the persons of the Holy Spirit.” He prayed that all the families should be filled with love, patience and forgiveness of Jesus Christ and become the model Christian families to one another.

Fr Rocky D’Cunha OFM, Fr Charles Menezes, Fr Anil Crasta and Fr Andrew D’Souza, parish priest, Holy Spirit Church of Bajal were the concelebrants.

With the Guidance of Fr Andrew D’Souza and the support of the vice president, secretary and the members of the parish Council all the arrangements were done with discipline.

Fr Andrew D'Souza thanked each and every one who extended their help in the celebration of the annual festival. Thousands of devotees participated in the spiritual programmes.
