Bantwal, June 6: Punjalkatte station PSI Suthesh K P and police personnel intercepted a light blue coloured Mahindra Jeeto (KA 19, AC 1851) vehicle approaching from Devasyamudoor on Monday, June 6 in the morning at Uli village on definite clues when they were on rounds. The accused who was trying to flee from the vehicle was apprehended with the help of staff.
The accused is said to have been transporting a cow in the vehicle unlawfully and in a violent manner without documents. The accused has been taken into custody. The cow, valued at Rs 3,000 and the vehicle valued at Rs 1 lac have been confiscated by the police personnel.
The accused has been identified as Mohammed Rafik (34), son of Isubu Beary, Uli grama, Bantwal. A case under no. 34/2022 has been registered against the accused.
