Udupi, Mar 17: In an accident that occurred near Karkada in Saligrama in the district on Wednesday March 16, a person lost his life, and two others were injured. The deceased has been identified as Sachin Poojary (24).
The accident occurred, when a goods rickshaw moving towards Kota from Sastan was hit from behind by a truck used for digging bore wells. Sachin Poojary, who was sitting by the side of the rickshaw driver, was thrown to the ground, and lost his life due to injuries suffered to his head, neck, and chest. Sachin could not be saved, although arrangements were made to immediately take him to a hospital in Brahmavar.
Rickshaw driver, Srikant, and another man, Pramod, who were also injured, are recovering in a hospital. A case was registered in Kota police station in this respect.
