Shivamogga: Yuvamitra PYP-USP meets at Sannidhi

Shivamogga, Jul 11; On July 10, the parish youth president (PYP) and YCS/YSM (Young Catholic Students/Young Students Movement) unit students’ presidents (USP) meet was organized by Youth Commission, Diocese of Shivamogga at ‘Sannidhi’ centre for pastoral renewal. The programme began with the Eucharistic celebration by Fr Pius D’Souza, the youth director of the diocese of Shivamogga.

There were 65 youth leaders and YCS/YSM unit presidents from 22 parishes in the meeting. All of them systematically presented their parish level activity reports. Most of the parish youth have tried their level best to reach out the people in various ways, in spite of pandemic for the past two years. Many youth leaders thanked their parish priest for their encouragement and support.

The parish level action plan was presented by parish youth presidents and YCS/YSM unit presidents. It was very much enriching and motivating discussion. All the participants had a wonderful opportunity to share their views. Many doubts were clarified and suggestions were welcomed. Youth had an informative and interactive day. The day brought so much joy and gladness, to appreciate and encourage each other to continue the good work of youth in their respective parishes.

Supriya Varghese, president of Indian Catholic Youth Movement-ICYM, Shivamogga welcomed the delegates. Anethra Angeline, girl representative of ICYM, Shivamogga initiated the day’s program. Enthusiastic and creative central team members conducted the animation. The day ended with a vote of thanks by Joshua D’Costa, president, YCS/YSM, Diocese of Shivamogga.
