Bantwal, Jul 17: A 65-year-old man who was working in a plantation died after he accidentally slipped and fell into a well in Kavalapaduru on Saturday, July 16.

The deceased is identified as Raghava Devadiga, a resident of Balthabailu, Kavalapaduru of Bantwal taluk.

It is suspected that while Raghava was working in his own areca plantation and removing the weeds around the well this incident took place.
Raghava was alone at home. His family members had gone to work.

Reportedly, a neighbour had seen Raghava removing the weeds around the well on Saturday at around 3.30 PM. When his family members returned from work and did not find Raghava Devadiga at home, they began a search. When they headed towards the areca plantation, his mortal remains were found in the well, stated a complaint filed in the Bantwal Rural Police Station.

Bantwal Rural police station sub-inspector Harish visited the spot.
