Bengaluru, Jul 18: Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan warmly praised the service and contribution of Late Sri Balagangadharnath Swamiji of the Adichunchanagiri Mutt in the field of education and also in feeding the people and providing healthcare facilities in rural areas.

``The late seer Balagangadharnath Swamiji was a Krantipurush,’’ he said pointing out that over 1.53 lakh students were studying in the various educational institutions established under the seer’s leadership. ``It is a matter of pride that over 7,000 students of these institutions secured 100% marks in this year’s SSLC examination,’’ he said.

He was speaking at a function after inaugurating the newly build Balagangadharnath Swamiji Garden in Vrishabhavati Nagar of Mahalakshmi Assembly constituency in Bengaluru on Monday.

Dr Narayan said the late Seer Balagangadharnath Swamiji was a pioneer, who started a medical college in a rural area like Bellur.
