Bantwal, July 18: A group of 27 pilgrims who had gone on an Amarnath pilgrimage returned to Mangaluru safely on Monday morning.

There was a cloudburst at Amarnath on the day they reached Jammu and many pilgrims underwent suffering and even deaths were reported. Several pilgrims had gone missing as well. The darshan of the deity was delayed by two days due to these incidents.

The group has completed the pilgrimage successfully with the help of soldiers. “We have completed Vaishnodevi darshan and returned to the district today,” said Suresh Kotian, one of the members of the group.
