Beltangady, Jul 23: A complaint has been filed over a man reportedly sexually harassing a six-year-old girl.
Narayana Naika stays with his wife in the neighbourhood of the victim. Narayana had called the child to his house at about 4 pm on July 8 offering her sweet potato to eat. However, it is alleged that he lifted the girl, made her sleep on the cot in their house and sexually harassed her.
The girl informed her family about the incident, but her mother did not go to the hospital or complain to the police thinking about her future and prestige. However, the mother eventually complained to the police as Narayana had taken the child for some more days subsequent to the incident.
A case in this connection is registered in Beltangady police station under registration No. 48/2022 section 376AB IPC and section 5, 6 POCSO Act.
