Mangaluru, Jul 25: Grandparents' Day was celebrated at St Anthony's Ashram on July 24. The day was celebrated with joy and gaiety.
The chief guest for the occasion was a well known personality Fr Valerian D'Souza. Fr J B Crasta, Fr Rupesh Tauro and Fr Larry Pinto graced the occasion with their presence.
Students residing at the ashram left no stone unturned enthralling the audience with their skilled performances. They entertained the crowd with their singing, grooved to the dances and enacted their acting skills through drama.
The seminarians of Jeppu seminary also danced and added more fun to the occasion. Fr Rupesh and Fr Larry conducted fun games for the gathering ensuring participation and laughter.
Fr Valerian D'Souza in his address emphasised on the importance of elders and of the love we need to share with our elders. The elderly do not expect riches, things or a variety of food. He requested everyone to be grateful for all the good things and to love each other unconditionally.
Fr J B Crasta appreciated all the inmates and the services rendered by all of them in their individual spheres. He also thanked all the members who toiled to make the event a successful and a memorable one.
More than 250 elders participated in this celebration.
