Mangalore: DC Promulgates Prohibitory Orders around SSLC Exam Centres

Mangalore, Mar 31: In the backdrop of SSLC examinations being held in the state from April 1 to 13, Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, Subodh Yadav, has issued prohibitory orders around all these examination centres during the period of the examinations. The orders, issued under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, will be in force up to to a radius of 200 metres from these centres.

Other than the students appearing for the examinations, forming or moving of groups having over five members in the said area has been prohibited. All the Xerox shops functioning around the examination centres have been ordered to be closed half an hour before the start of the examination, and during the period the examinations are in progress. Use of mobile phones in the prohibitory zone has also been banned.

In a release, additional district magistrate of Udupi district, T M Prabhakar, said that prohbitory orders under section 144 have been enforced within a radius of 200 metres from the SSLC examination centres in the district.
